"Vitalia! Your recipes work magic" I keep hearing. Well, I will be very honest with you all: although I do cook very well, I find it difficult to follow most of the recipes. Most of the culinary books take for granted that you've been cooking for years and can just keep guessing when to add ingredients. I fully understand that many women do not know how to cook, do not know how to shop for food, do not understand the basics, that's why I decided to start this blog.
My husband and I love to cook, and by saying "love to cook" I mean we LOVE TO COOK. If you ever see us arguing, is only when whose Tom Yum soup is better haha. Whenever we travel the world, the first sightseeing tour we take is to the local kitchen. I will write in details about our culinary experiences later. We met so many inspiring chefs from Australia, Turkey, Lebanon who taught us those special tricks.
Let me mention something before you proceed to my recipes: every chef is different, every recipe has many ways of being prepared. I write about things which may not be so correct in the "high culinary society" but things which work. For example, some of the Lebanese sweets are only prepared with traditional Akkawi cheese. I truly understand that you gotta do things absolutely correctly, but such cheese rarely worked with me. I substituted it with mozzarella (imagine that! Lebanese chefs, you can shoot me now:))) and it worked perfectly well, with less headache. When my Lebanese relatives tried the sweets I made, nobody even noticed the difference and were absolutely happy with the result. Success? Yeap!
I have to thank many ladies in the Russian Mums in UAE community on Facebook for the inspiration to start writing here as if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have even thought about it. It all started with few posts on Facebook, comments kept coming, and most of them were highly positive. Ladies, I owe you a lot! Thank you all!
